Dr. Chengelis takes pride in fulfilling
the above. He did full residencies in both Internal Medicine and General Surgery with additional experience in rural
emergency medicine and training in laparoscopic minimally invasive surgery. This varied exposure gives
him a unique perspective. He is board certified in surgery by the American Board of Surgery.
He
now devotes his efforts in the field of surgery with an emphasis on advanced laparoscopic procedures. He is a high
volume bariatric surgeon at a center of excellence.
He is on staff exclusively at Willliam Beaumont
Hospital and all surgeries are performed at the Royal Oak campus. His office is next to the hospital
in the Beaumont Medical Office Building. He is a member of the teaching faculty of the Oakland University
William Beaumont School of Medicine serving as an Assistant Professor.
