The American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) releases their official statement and calls for safe resumption of bariatric and metabolic surgery before COVID-19 pandemic is declared over.
On October 5, 2017, I was proud to be the main organizer of the annual educational conference for the members of the Michigan Bariatric Society also known as the Michigan Chapter of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
Bariatric SocietyThis event attracted over 100 doctors and allied health professionals along with 15 industry vendors who generously support the conference each year. Ten speakers presented during the day long event and the talks were all extremely interesting in the rapidly evolving field of weight loss surgery.
Medical and surgical conferences such as these are vitally important to improving care as the sharing of techniques and ideas benefits both patients and doctors. In early November 2017, the national meeting for The Obesity Society and The American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery will take place in Washington DC. I am looking forward to attending.
